A regular contributor to our site, he previously served as a columnist on global markets and economic issues for the Financial Post, as well as editor-in-chief of Content Works, Postmedia’s commercial content division. Prior to that, he led the corporate and public affairs department at a major Toronto-based public relations firm for several years, following a journalistic career that included nearly a decade as editor of Canadian Business magazine and as a senior writer and associate publisher at Maclean’s newsmagazine.

“I’m very excited to be joining the CFO team and helping to guide it on the next stage of its evolution,” he said. “Co-editors Dave Michaels and Christina Varga have established Canadian Family Offices as the voice for and about family offices in this country, and I’m looking forward to building on their exceptional work.”

With the creation of the Managing Editor role, Christina Varga has returned to Postmedia’s Financial Post after three years as Co-editor of Canadian Family Offices. Under Christina’s co-leadership with Dave Michaels, who remains on the editorial team, the site has seen remarkable growth in readership and its editorial coverage of the family office segment.

“I’ve been privileged to have met and spoken with a wide variety of people in the family office ecosystem,” said Varga. “Whether it was the immigrant founders of successful businesses, the women who took over family businesses , the philanthropists who support important causes or the family-office executives who shared their perspectives with us, every conversation has added to a richer understanding of this complex sector.

“I want to thank all the people who have been so generous with their time and expertise, and assure you that this publication continues to grow and innovate in the excellent hands of Dave Michaels and Joe Chidley.”
